Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

Mack volunteers and sits on the Board as the compliance officer for the Chinese American Citizens Alliance Las Vegas Lodge and is proud to be the Alliances first African/Black American to be elected in its 122 year history as the Nations older Civil Rights Organization. The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is observed on the Chinese Lunar calendar. It has always been celebrated at the first full moon of fall as a time of family and friends, with the lanterns lighting up the night and delighting the children. In the long history of Chinese civilization, the festival was born based on 3 legends and a historical fact. The story of Lady Chang’E Flying to The Moon was featured when the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, Las Vegas Lodge, sponsored the school art competition the first time in 2015. Over 300 art entries were received. In the next annual competition in 2016, the Jade Rabbit legend was selected.
